i'm constantly thinking about design— how we experience it and how it shapes our lives. i think about how lighting shapes the mood of a room, i think about how one piece of furniture can draw you in and how a painting can divert your attention ,maybe even touch your soul.
i'm constantly thinking about architecture, the mundanity if inhabiting a space and creating a routine around that space. i sometimes wonder how fascinating it is that we can enter a space we've never been before and instantly feel at home.
i think about clothing and the million different ways a person can express themselves with it. i think abut how sometimes putting on a piece of clothing almost feels like coming home, like you were meant to wear it, as if the material was chosen specifically for you, as if every stitch had you in mind.
i think about objects— that hairbrush that was passed down from generation to generation, those dishes a grandmother got as a wedding gift, that tablecloth with a yellow stain on the far right corner, that dress a mother wore to prom and is now in her daughter's cabinet, that jacket dad was wearing when he got into that accident—
